Rescue Me Comedy Tour : Lenny Clarke

Born in Boston, Mass., Lenny Clarke attended the University of Massachusetts.  Always making people laugh, Clarke took his act to the stage and became a stand-up comic.  During the early 1980s he spent a few years as regular host of the comedy open-mike nights at the now-defunct Ding-Ho Restaurant in Cambridge, Mass., and other comedy clubs throughout Massachusetts.  It was during this time that he struck a friendship with fellow Boston comic Denis Leary, whom he would later collaborate with on numerous projects. Clarke took his comedic talent to the big and small screen, securing roles in numerous popular films and television series. 

His film credits include Stuck on You with Matt Damon and Greg Kinnear; There’s Something About Mary with Ben Stiller and Cameron Diaz; Noose with Billy Crudup and Denis Leary; Meet Wally Sparks with Rodney Dangerfield; and Two If By Sea with Leary and Sandra Bullock. In 1990 Clarke secured his own sitcom, Lenny, on NBC.  That following year he hosted The Sunday Comics on FOX, and currently plays Uncle Teddy on the FX Networks hit series Rescue Me along with Denis Leary.  He is alsorecently starred in the Fox sitcom Brothers.    He also was a Co-Executive Producer of Comedy Central’s Contest Searchlight, which gave creators their big chance to make their own comedy series and see it air – regardless of how it turned out.  Other television credits include ABC’s It’s All Relative, The Job and NBC’s The John Larroquette Show, and guest-starring roles on 7th Heaven, The New Love Boat and Pearl.
